Bride of the Wind
Bride of the Wind ★½ 2001 (R)
Dull biopic of Alma Mahler (Wynter), a 20th-century femme who put her own musical career aside to marry composer Gustav Mahler (Pryce) in old Vienna. Alma intrigues a number of famous men, including architect Walter Gropius (Verhoeven), artist Oskar Kokoschka (Perez), and others while her marriage to the stoic Gustav suffers. Unfortunately, it's neither titillating nor interesting despite the players. 99m/C VHS, DVD . Sarah Wynter, Jonathan Pryce, Vincent Perez, Simon Verhoeven, August Schmolzer, Gregor Seberg, Dagmar Schwarz, Wolfgang Hubsch, Johannes Silberschneider; D: Bruce Beresford; W: Marilyn Levy; C: Peter James; M: Stephen Endelman.
