Guy (Burton) is a doctor who returns to his New England hometown to care for a dying friend, Larry (Drake). Unfortunately, Guy falls for Larry's wife Mar (Rush) and they have an affair. When Guy pulls the plug on his friend's suffering, suspicious townspeople (who of course know what's going on) wonder just how “merciful” the doctor was really being and he's tried for murder. Tawdry “Peyton Place”-ish soap opera based on the novel by Charles Mergendahl. 104m/C VHS .
