The Boy who could Fly
The Boy Who Could Fly ★★★ 1986 (PG)
After a plane crash kills his parents, a boy withdraws into a fantasy land where he can fly. The young daughter of a troubled family makes friends with him and the fantasy becomes real. A sweet film for children, charming though melancholy for adults, too. Fine cast, including Savage, Dewhurst, and Bedelia keep this from becoming sappy. 120m/C VHS, DVD . Lucy Deakins, Jay Underwood, Bonnie Bedelia, Colleen Dewhurst, Fred Savage, Fred Gwynne, Louise Fletcher, Jason Priestley; D: Nick Castle; W: Nick Castle; C: Steven Poster; M: Bruce Broughton.
