Roman empress. Reigned from 254 to 268; born Cornelia Salonina Chrysogone; married Gallienus (c. 218–268), emperor of Rome (r. 253–268).
Salonina, thought be a cultivated woman, was probably a Greek, possibly from Bithynia. Married to Gallienus, emperor of Rome, she and her husband were friends of Plotinus and other intellectuals. Gallienus also had a concubine named Pipa .
