British mountaineer who made the first ascent of the Teufelsgrat (1887). Flourished in 1887; married A.F. (Fred) Mummery (a mountaineer), in 1883.
In 1887, Mary Petherick, her husband Fred Mummery, and Alexander Burgener climbed the Jungfrau, Zinal Rothorn, Drieckhorn, and the Taschorn, making the first ascent of the Teufelsgrat (the Devil's Ridge) in the process.
