Petit Jehan, Claude
Petit Jehan, Claude, French composer; b. place and date unknown; d. Metz, 1589. He became choirmaster at Metz Cathedral in 1571, and served as a canon there until his death. By 1575 he was choirmaster at Verdun Cathedral. In 1576 he won a prize at the Evreux music competition for his Ce riz plus doux for 4 Voices. He was long confused with Petit Jehan de Lattre.
