Russian ballet dancer. Born Marie Mariusovna Petipa, 1857, in Russia; died 1930; dau. of Marie Petipa (1836–1882, ballet dancer) and Marius Petipa (1818–1910, ballet master and choreographer); studied with her father.
A character dancer, created many national dances in ballets and operas; was the first Lilac Fairy in her father's Sleeping Beauty.
