Queen of Hungary. Name variations: Mary Lascaris; Laskaris. Flourished between 1234 and 1242; daughter of Theodore I Lascaris, emperor of Nicaea (r. 1204–1222) and probably Anna Angelina (daughter of Alexius III, Byzantine emperor); married Bela IV, king of Hungary (r. 1235–1270); children: Cunegunde (1234–1292); Stephen V, king of Hungary (b. 1239, r. 1270–1272); Margaret of Hungary (1242–1270). Bela IV's second wife was Saint Salome of Hungary (1201–c. 1270).
