Byzantine (Nicaean) empress. Name variations: Adelheid of Brunswick; Adelheid-Irene of Brunswick. Flourished in the 1300s; first wife of Andronikos also spelled Andronicus III Paleologus, Byzantine (Nicaean) emperor (r. 1328–1341). Andronicus' second wife was Anne of Savoy (c. 1320–1353).
