Born Anastasia Michaelovna Romanov on July 28, 1860; died on March 11, 1922; daughter of Michael Nicholaevitch (son of Nicholas I of Russia and Charlotte of Prussia ) and Cecilia of Baden (1839–1891); married Frederick Francis III, grand duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, on January 24, 1879; children: Alexandrina of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1879–1952); Frederick Francis IV, grand duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin; Cecilia of Mecklenberg-Schwerin (1886–1954).
