Swedish jazz singer and actress. Born Monical Nilsson, Sept 20, 1937, in Sweden; died in a fire in her apartment, May 12, 2005, in Stockholm, Sweden; married 3 times; children: Eva-Lena Zetterlund (actress).
One of Sweden's best-known performers, began career as a singer in her father's band; recorded more than 20 albums (1958–2000); also acted in plays, on tv, and in Swedish films, including The Emigrants and The New Land; had scoliosis, a disabling disease that twists the spine, making it difficult to move.
