Shiono, Nanami (1937–)
Japanese novelist. Born 1937 in Tokyo, Japan; graduate of Gakushuin University; lives in Florence, Italy.
Specializing in medieval Italian history, wrote such novels as The Story of a City Facing the Sea and My Friend, Machiavelli and a Collection of His Sayings. Received Kan Kikuchi Prize (1983); won the Shinchosha Gakugei Prize (1993), for the 1st novel in her series titled Romajin no Monogatari (Tales of the Romans).
