British track-and-field athlete. Name variations: Theresa Sanderson. Born Mar 14, 1956, in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.
Won the javelin throw at the Commonwealth Games (1978 and 1986); took 2nd place, European championships (1978); set a Commonwealth record of 6,114 points in the heptathlon (1981); came in 4th in the World championships, Helsinki (1983); won a gold medal for javelin throw at Los Angeles Olympics (1984), setting an Olympic record: 228 feet and 2 inches (69.56 meters).
