Along with husband, served a prison sentence (1988) for refusal to pay fines arising out of protests against the Anglo-Irish Agreement and the public order laws; representing Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly for Strangford (1998); elected to House of Commons at Westminister (2001).
