Grew up on British tv; made British film debut in Small Hotel (1957); starred in Hollywood debut in Darby O'Gill and the Little People (1959); other films include Third Man on the Mountain, Swiss Family Robinson, Day the Earth Caught Fire, Bitter Harvest and Mr. Sebastian.
