Miyao, Tomiko (1926–)
Japanese novelist. Born 1926 in Kochi prefecture, Japan; dau. of a geisha and geisha master.
Works include An Oar (1973), based on the life of her mother, as well as Yokiro, Mai, and Kinone. Won the Naoki Prize for A Koto with One String (1978).
