Michelman, Kate (1942–)

American feminist and reproductive rights activist. Born Aug 4, 1942; grew up in Defiance, Ohio; married; children: 3 daughters.

A specialist in early childhood development, with a particular emphasis on developmentally disabled children, developed a model milti-disciplinary diagnostic treatment program for developmentally disabled preschool children and their families which became a model throughout US; was executive director of Planned Parenthood in Harrisburg, PA; served as president of National Abortion Rights Action League, later known as NARAL Pro-Choice America (1985–2003).
