The Medical Society of London's 1st female fellow, advocated training improvements and more flexible training hours for women doctors; contributed as a founding member of both the Association for the Study of Medical Education and of Women's National Cancer Control Campaign; served as Dame Josephine Barnes' clinical assistant at Elizabeth Garrett Hospital (1947–78); served as general physician for the royal women and children of Brunei (from 1978); made a fellow of British Medical Association. Made Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
