Hodges, Joy (1914–2003)
American singer and dancer. Born Jan 29,1914, in Des Moines, Iowa; died Jan 19, 2003, in Palm Desert, California.
Appeared in Broadway in I'd Rather Be Right, Best Foot Forward and in title role of Have You Met Miss Jones?; also sang for such bandleaders as Ozzie Nelson and Glenn Miller; films include To Beat the Band, Follow the Fleet, Personal Secretary, Boy Meets Joy, Margie and I Used to be in Pictures; while singing on Des Moines' radio station WHO, met Ronald Reagan and later helped launch his acting career.
