Came to prominence as Jessica Tate on tv's "Soap" (1977–81); directed the film Bankrupt and episodes for tv's "Benson" and "Who's the Boss?"; films include The Hospital, Believe in Me, The Hindenburg, Family Plot, Time Bandits, Brazil, Shadey, Overboard, Lady in White and Big Paw: Beethoven 5.
