Canadian alpine skier. Name variations: Anne Heggtveit Hamilton; Anne Heggtveit-Hamilton. Born Jan 11, 1939, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; dau. of Dr. Halvor Heggtveit (qualifier for Canada's 1932 Olympic ski team but did not compete); m. Ross Hamilton.
At 15, won the Holmenkollen giant slalom in Norway (1954), youngest winner in event's 50-year history; won the combined title at Aalberg-Kandahar championship in Garmisch, West Germany (1959), 1st non-European to do so; at Squaw Valley, won a gold medal for slalom (1960), the 1st Canadian skier to win an Olympic medal; won gold medals in combined and slalom at Fédération Internationale du Ski World championship (1960); retired (1960).
