Scottish-born actress. Born Mary Gilmour, May 16, 1882, in Glasgow, Scotland; died Aug 23, 1963, in Pasadena, California.
Came to US with a touring stage company; made film debut in Tessie (1925); appeared in small or uncredited parts in over 250 films, including The Little Minister, Stage Struck, Kidnapped, When the Daltons Ride and My Son My Son; probably best remembered as Mrs. Hudson, the housekeeper, in the Sherlock Holmes films.
