English star of stage and screen. Born Constance Blades, April 22, 1878, in Folkestone, Kent, England; died May 26, 1974, in Brentwood, LI, NY; dau. of Lt.-Col. Blades; m. Michael Levenston; m. Hon. H.W. Horsley-Beresford (Harry Beresford, actor); m. Ralph Ranlet (also seen as Raulet, died); children: Vera Beresford (actress).
Made London debut in Kitty Grey (1901); made NY debut in Véronique (1905); appeared in the operetta The Enchantress (1911), written expressly for her by Victor Herbert; films include The Crucial Test, Forget-Me-Not, The Wasp, No Man's Land and The Interloper.
