Won 6 Australian indiv. championships (in the 200-meter butterfly, 200-, 800-, and 1,500-meter freestyle), and one relay championship; won a gold medal at Commonwealth games in Edmonton (1978) and Brisbane (1982); won a bronze medal for the 200-meter butterfly and a gold medal for the 800-meter freestyle at Moscow Olympics (1980). Awarded OBE.
