Spanish politician. Born Jan 27, 1938, in Ripoll, Girona, Catalonia, Spain.
Member of UDC Executive (1978–84, 1987–) and chair (1984–86); served as vice-president of the European Union of Christian Democrats (EUCD, 1983–86), president of the Union of Christian Democratic Women (UCDW, 1987–89), and vice-president of the Christian Democratic International (1998–); as a member of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats) and European Democrats, elected to 4th and 5th European Parliament (1994–99, 1999–2004). Awarded Grand Cross of the Order of Bernardo O'Higgins (Chile) and Commander of the Order of May (Argentina).
