African-American track-and-field athlete. Name variations: Barbara Ann Ferrell Edmondson. Born July 8, 1947, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi; m. Warren Edmondson.
Set the world record in the 100 meters (1968); won the silver medal in the 100 meters and the gold medal in the 4×100-meter relay in the Mexico City Olympics (1968).
