Ellmann, Barbara (1950–)
American modern dancer and designer. Born July 11, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan.
Joined James Cunningham and Acme Dance Company (early 1970s), where she performed in Cunningham's Dancing with Maisie Paradocks (1974), Mr. Fox Asleep (1978), and others; served as Cunningham company's associate director and designed costumes—an integral part of his productions—for numerous works, including Alexander and the Sheep's Head (1978), The Well at the World's End (1979), The Attic Window (1979) and The Rainbow Bridge (1979); exhibited artwork, including collages, photography, and graphic art, at numerous venues in New York City.
