American stage and screen actress. Name variations: Virginia True Boardman; Virginia Boardman. Born May 23, 1889, in Fort Davis, Texas; died June 10, 1971, in Hollywood, California; m. True Boardman (actor, died 1918); children: True Boardman Jr. (tv writer).
Entered films with the Selig Studios in Chicago; appeared in The Girl of the Limberlost, The Tomboy, Penrod, and The House of Intrigue, among others; often played the mother of Shirley Temple (Black).
