American-born figure skater. Name variations: Sonya Klopfer. Born in US around 1936; m. Canadian skater Peter Dunfield.
Was Ladies' National Figure Skating Champion (1951) and captain of US Olympics team (1952); at World championships, won a bronze medal (1951) and a silver medal (1952); with husband, coached in Canada, mentoring such skaters as Elizabeth Manley, among others. With husband, inducted into Skate Canada Hall of Fame (2001).
