Davys, Mary (1674–1731)
Irish playwright and novelist. Born 1674 in Ireland; died 1731 in Cambridge, England; m. Peter Davys (Dublin schoolmaster).
Wrote The Northern Heiress, or the Humors of York (1716), The Reform'd Coquet, or the Memoirs of Amoranda (1724), The Works of Mrs. Davys (1725) and The Accomplish'd Rake, or the Modern Fine Gentleman (1727).
