English actress and singer. Born April 19, 1904, in Bath, Somerset, England; died Dec 26, 1992 in Manhattan of a stroke.
Primarily a stage actress, starred opposite Yul Brynner in The King and I (1951–54); also appeared on Broadway in Charlot Revue (1925–26), Oh, Kay! (1926–27), A Connecticut Yankee (1927–28), Roar Like a Dove (1964) and The Incomparable Max (1971).
