German essayist and travel writer. Name variations: Emilie von Berlepsch Harms. Born Emile von Oppel in 1755; died 1830; married a noble named von Berlepsch of the Hanover court.

Wrote Caledonia (1802–04), about travels through Scotland; also published essays on marriage and repression of women.
