American poet, playwright, novelist and actress. Name variations: Charlotte Mary Sanford Barnes Connor. Born Charlotte Mary Sanford Barnes, 1818; died April 14, 1863, in New York, NY; dau. of Mary Barnes (actress); m. Edmund Sheppard Connor (actor), 1847.
Made stage debut at the Tremont in Boston (1933), playing Juliet to her mother's Romeo; writings include retelling of story of Pocahontas, The Forest Princess (1848), and of a 19th-century murder, Octavia Bradaldi (1837).
