Weinmannia (family Cunoniaceae) A genus of trees in which the leaves are opposite, pinnate, with big stipules, and the leaflets toothed. The flowers are tiny, with 4 petals, 8 stamens, and the ovary superior and bilocular. The fruit is a capsule. There are about 190 species, occurring in Madagascar, the Mascarenes, from Malaysia to New Zealand and the Pacific islands, and from Mexico to Chile.
