Streptococcaceae A family of Gram-positive bacteria in which the cells are spherical or ovoid and occur in pairs, in groups of 4, or in chains. Usually they are non-motile. They are chemo-organotrophic, and can grow in the presence or absence of air. They are found in a wide range of habitats.
