Melittidae
Melittidae (order Hymenoptera, suborder Apocrita) Family of short-tongued mining bees, which superficially resemble the Andrenidae, but differ from members of that family in that they lack subantennal plates and have the scopa restricted to the posterior tibia and basitarsus.
