Eosphaera
Eosphaera A tiny, sphaeroidal fossil that is associated with other microfossils in the Gunflint Chert, a rock, some 2000 million years old, from western Ontario, Canada. It is suggested that these fossils are the remains of the first photosynthetic organisms.
