Dermatophilus (order Actinomycetales) A genus of aerobic or facultatively anaerobic, mycelium-forming bacteria, in which the filaments divide transversely and longitudinally to form masses of cells that bear flagella and are motile. Species can cause skin diseases in humans and other animals.
