Cephaleuros (division Chlorophyta) A genus of epiphytic (see EPIPHYTE) and/or parasitic algae which grow beneath the leaf cuticles of a host plant. A Cephaleuros species is responsible for the disease ‘red rust’ of tea and other plants.
