SPIELMANN, RUDOLF
SPIELMANN, RUDOLF (1883–1942), Austrian chess master. Spielmann was regarded as the most successful of attacking chess players. He defeated *Nimzovich, *Tartakover (twice), *Réti, Stahlberg, Lundin, Eliskases, Bogoljubow, and Stolz in match play and won first prizes in 18 master tournaments between 1910 and 1935.
