MOSES BEN ELIJAH PASHA

MOSES BEN ELIJAH PASHA , Karaite scholar from Chufut-Qaleh, ḥazzan of the community and a teacher of Torah in the 16th century. In addition, he was mentioned in one manuscript as a corrector of prayer books. He corresponded with Karaite worthies of Constantinople, Moses Metsorodi and Eljah Maruli. He wrote a commentary on the liturgical poem by Aaron ben Joseph, Hakdamat Aẓulah, and composed several liturgical poems, some of which were included in the Karaite siddur.
