MARCUS, FRANK

MARCUS, FRANK (1928–1996), German-born playwright. Marcus emigrated to Britain in 1939. Originally an actor, Marcus had his own first play produced in 1950. His later works include The Formation Dancers (1964), Cleo (1965), and The Killing of Sister George (1965), a drama about lesbianism that was made into a successful motion picture.
