LEO THAUMATURGUS, ST.

Bishop of Catania, Sicily, and miracle worker; b. probably at Ravenha, c. 703; d. c. 785. As bishop of Catania, he enjoyed universal respect. He was invited to Constantinople to the courts of Emperor Leo IV and of Emperor Constantine VI, who solicited his intercession.

Feast: Feb. 20.
