Nūr Muḥammadī
Nūr Muḥammadī (Pers. abbr. of Arab., ‘light of Muḥammad’). The essential nature of Muḥammad which was created before the creation of the world, and is thus something akin to ‘the pre-existent prophet’. For the Shiʿites, the belief lent itself to the continuing inspiration of the Imāms, who share in the nature of the Prophet through the dispensation of his illumination.
