Munāfiqūn, al-
Munāfiqūn, al- (Arab.). Term in the Qurʾān denoting those who pretended allegiance to Muḥammad's cause but in bad faith. Sūra 63 is named for them, and there are evidences elsewhere of their ‘hypocrisy’.
