Mīrī and pīrī (Pañjābī, ‘temporal’ + ‘spiritual’). Sikh affirmation that belief and commitment relates to all aspects of life: there can be no distinction between secular and religious, or between spiritual and political; all aspects of life must be governed by the teaching of the Gurū Granth Sāhib (Ādi Granth).
