Kaivalya
Kaivalya (Skt., ‘alone, unique’). The state of the soul in Hindu Rāja-yoga when it realizes that it is not dependent on such support systems as gods or material sustenance. Kaivalya-mukti is thus freedom from all further rebirth.
Among Jains, kaivalya describes the jiva (soul) emancipated from karma, and regaining its original condition of isolation from ajiva: see KEVALA; KEVALIN.
