Disciplina arcani
Disciplina arcani (Lat., ‘discipline of the secret’). The practice of concealing certain rites and doctrines from outsiders. It used to be adduced by Catholic writers to explain the scarcity of early Christian evidences on such subjects as the Trinity, mass, and number of sacraments.
