Bdud-joms Rin-po-che
Bdud-joms Rin-po-che or Dudjom Rinpoche (1904–87). Head of the Nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism. When 3 years old, he was recognized as the reappearance of the ‘treasure-finder’, Bdud-joms gling-pa (1835–1903). As a refugee in 1959, he settled first in Darjeeling and in Nepal, but then increasingly in the USA, and Europe, where he established Nyingma centres. He was thus a major figure in securing the Tibetan diaspora.
