Shiwalik Hills

Shiwalik Hills (sĬwä´lĬk), southernmost range of the Himalayas, S central Asia, extending c.1,050 mi (1,690 km) from SW Kashmir through N India into S Nepal paralleling the main Himalayan range at a distance of c.90 mi (140 km). The highest point is 3,500 ft (1,067 m). The Shiwalik Hills are noted for their vast vertebrate fossil beds.
